Terms of use
Last updated 3 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and STACK SOFTWARE LIMITED when you use Tidestill. By signing in you agree to them. They're short, so please read them.
The service
Tidestill is free. It reads the data you allow from Google Health and shows scores, plans and insights built from it. Tidestill is offered to people in New Zealand and Australia.
We work hard to keep it accurate and running. Subject to your rights under consumer law (see Your consumer rights), we provide it as it is and as available, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you the price and terms before you're charged, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
Not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Fitbit and Pixel Watch are trademarks of Google LLC.
Not medical advice
Not a medical device. For general wellness only. Scores, plans and insights are estimates from a consumer wearable, for general wellness. They aren't medical advice and they can be wrong. Talk to a doctor or other health professional about any health concern, and never delay or skip care because of something the app shows.
Who can use it
You need to be 16 or older, and you need a Google account with a Fitbit or Pixel Watch that syncs to it. Use your own account only: the data in it is yours.
Your account
You sign in with your Google account, so keeping that account secure (its password and two-step verification) is up to you. If you think someone else has used your Tidestill account, tell us at support@tidestill.com, and use Settings › Account › Sign out of all devices.
Using it fairly
Don't misuse the service. That means you agree not to:
- try to get into anyone else's account or data, or get around the app's security;
- overload, scrape or automate the service beyond normal personal use;
- use it to break the law, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows.
We may suspend an account that does these things. We'll tell you why, unless the law or a security reason prevents it.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You give us permission to store it and process it only to run the service for you, as the Privacy policy explains. You can download it or delete it at any time from Settings.
Our app and your feedback
STACK SOFTWARE LIMITED owns Tidestill: its software, design, scores and words. While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for yourself. We can end that licence as these terms describe.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Tidestill without owing you anything. We won't name you without asking.
Changes and ending
We may change these terms. Small changes, such as fixing wording or adding a new feature, apply when we update this page. If a change matters, we'll show it in the app at least 30 days before it applies, and you'll need to accept it to keep using Tidestill. If you don't want to, you can download your data and delete your account first. This version is 2026-10-03.
You can stop using Tidestill and delete your account at any time. We may end the service, or your access to it, with at least 30 days' notice, during which you can download your data. We may act sooner if the law or a security problem requires it, or if a third party we rely on, such as Google Health, withdraws our access; in that case we'll tell you as soon as we can.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, STACK SOFTWARE LIMITED isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of NZ$100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
None of this limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for breaching privacy law, or any liability that can't legally be limited.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded: in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986; in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights apply even though these terms are governed by New Zealand law. Where the law lets us limit our liability for breaching a guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
General
- Notices. We contact you in the app or by email to the address on your Google account. You can contact us at support@tidestill.com.
- Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Tidestill.
- If part doesn't apply. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. We may transfer these terms to a business that takes over Tidestill. We'll tell you first, and you can delete your account if you don't want to continue.
- Things outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as outages at Google or our host.
- After you leave. The parts about liability, your consumer rights and the law still apply after your account ends.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The courts of New Zealand can hear disputes, and if you live in Australia you can also use the courts where you live.
